Driftwood from Ben More, the Assent coastline and Cornwall; pebble from Devon
The tiny piece of drift wood from Devon had an immediate association of a strong protective figure and a smaller female figure holding a baby in its arms for me. It seemed to show a family and is so fragile that it needed to be protected by a cradling piece of driftwood. A tiny black pebble from Devon provided the perfect head for the strong figure. The base of the cradle has a blackened crack which points directly upwards at the human figures.
