After years of feeling that this bird sculpture was incomplete it didn’t have wings. I finally found a piece of wood which was light enough and expressive enough to alter it and add the wings. This was very difficult, as the bird still had to balance on one small pivot point in order to fly freely. Introducing new weight whilst still maintaining the smooth ‘flight’ proved an agonising exercise but was very satisfying in the end.
