Driftwood from North West Scotland.

I have had the centre piece for years and waited until eventually I found the matching horizontal piece.  It was my intention to make the cross float up from its base.  The white bleached cross piece adds another dimension with its dynamic shape and the way it is hooked into the upright section’s central hole. The heavy  cedar driftwood base with all the root endings was a good possibility to emphasize this. Its warm colour adds to the grounding of the cross and provides a base for two figures at the foot of the sculpture.
