Driftwood and nails from Scotland, slate from the Cornish coast and shells from Selsey

Inspired by a trip with my friend Lucy to Selsey on the south coast of England.  The oyster shells at the beach were so beautifully shaped and immediately evoked the idea of flower petals in me.  They were combined with slate pebbles from  a north Devon beach which I picked up when we were visiting other friends near Barnstaple.  The fine stamens were the rusty nails from the bonfire pit at Benmore cottage.
