Or ‘Rolling Stones up the Hill’

Driftwood from North West Scotland, large pebble from Ardmair Bay in Wester Ross, smaller pebble from Merlin’s Cave in Cornwall and a tiny black pebble from a school playground

This sculpture marks a very important point in my life. It was the biggest sculpture to date and during the process of creating it, I realised that making sculptures was my new destination. It had been a struggle to get the time to do it, hence the subtitle ‘Rolling Stones up the Hill’.  Sculpting was always a balancing act which is represented by the dark small pebble which is precariously perched on the edge of the spiky left side of the wood. In the right hand arm which points the way forward and upwards sits a dominant round pebble, like a magic presence.
