Turning Back the Tide is the culmination of almost 20 years of collecting beach finds in Scotland. Almost 90% of the items are burned plastic rubbish! Locals collect rubbish at the beaches and burn it as a way of getting rid of it. The sea then washes the remnants back up and you have to look closely to realise that it is a catastrophy how much plastic is already in our environment. The sea and all the creatures in it are suffocating in it. We need to turn back the tide now!
